On Thursday September 27th 2018, we teamed up with Job Centre Plus and Holiday Inn to fill hundreds of job opportunities in stores across the city, including McDonald’s, Matalan, New Look and JD Sports.
More than 30 employers participated in the event, giving 1,600 job hunters a chance to apply for coveted positions and discuss roles face-to-face.
Job Centre Plus moved to St Johns last year, and now sits within the newly created one stop shop. We collaborate on vacancies year-round, and this event was a product of all our hard work.
Neil Ashcroft, St Johns Centre manager, said the fair was the culmination of months of preparation and planning.
“With lots of employers and hundreds of job seekers in one space there has been a real buzz and excitement, with applications being made and positions being filled all day long.
“As a community shopping centre, we’re always looking for ways to support the local community, with job opportunity always at the top of the list. After much planning and hard work, it is great to see the event delivering for so many today.”
The event was also attended by Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region.
