In celebration of International Day of Education, at St Johns we are dedicated in our commitment to education and supporting our student community within the city region. Through our partnership with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), we are providing students with the opportunity to gain hand-on experience within St Johns to support their futures. We are proud to continue our work with LJMU to shape the future of our local students and communities alike.
As part of our collaboration, St Johns is offering a unique internship opportunity for an LJMU student to design a vibrant mural on Level 4A of the car park. This opportunity gives students a platform to showcase their talent, as well as the challenge of working on a large-scale installation and provides invaluable project management experience. The mural will be a permanent feature in St Johns car park and will highlight the culture and heritage of the Liverpool city region.
We are also continuing our collaboration with the LJMU marketing programme after the success of last year. We have tasked LJMU students with a live brief to create a marketing strategy for St Johns. This project encourages the student to work together to research, plan and present a fully costed campaign, that will re-engage Liverpool’s local shoppers. Their efforts will contribute to strengthening the bond between St Johns and the local community, whilst giving them the opportunity to learn how to respond to real world business challenges and a chance to leave a tangible impact on their community.
Through our commitment to inclusive education, we are working with LJMU offering job shadowing opportunities for students with disabilities. Allowing students the opportunity to learn from our skilled management team at St Johns to gain insight into the operations of a shopping centre and the key skills needed to excel in managerial roles. Through this program, students with disabilities are provided with valuable experience necessary to make informed career choices and to pursue those careers with confidence.
We are proud of our work with LJMU and looking forward to seeing our partnership continue to evolve. We look forward to more opportunities that empower students from all backgrounds to support their career journeys.
