From today (Friday, June 2) children and families will be able to take part in a Sgt Pepper inspired treasure hunt in Liverpool City Centre.
Our centre is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Beatles album with a trail inspired by the song titles of the multi-million selling record, which was released on June 3, 1967. Families can pick up an easy to use activity sheet at F Hinds jewellers (situated on the Lower Mall opposite the Food Court) from this morning (Friday) and start the hunt around St Johns.
Our lovely customers have been invited to seek out the various characters stuck on windows of seven retail stores throughout the two-floor mall – filling in the missing words on their map of the song titles as they go.
The free activity will run throughout the weekend and children will be in with a chance of winning five £20 vouchers for the Entertainer store at St John’s after they complete the map and post it in a dedicated postbox also situated in F Hinds jewellers.
Robert Bradley, the centre manager, said: “We’ve brought the spirit of the enchanting names from the album to create some really colourful characters along our trail.
“For many of the kids who don’t know the band or the album, it’s nice to be able to translate the imaginative theme of Sgt Pepper to them with this fun treasure hunt.
“Half term is a busy time for most parents and we hope that this will give families who visit the centre something fun and interactive to do – all for free!
There is no age limit for entries and all entries must be submitted to F Hinds jewellers, in the dedicated postbox before 5 pm on Sunday, June 4. Winners will be contacted by Wednesday, June 7 and their prize collection of a £20 voucher will be organised individually.
