We are committed to:

- Encouraging environmentally responsible behaviour throughout our workforce
- Improving the awareness and understanding of environmental issues amongst contractors, tenants and visitors
- Continually improve by putting sustainability at the centre of operational decision making; incorporating small and large changes to centre operations and processes which have a positive environmental impact
- Preventing pollution wherever possible and practicable by developing non-polluting practices
- Sourcing electricity for the centre common areas that originates from 100% renewable sources
- Communicating ways in which the local community can engage and contribute to centre sustainability initiatives
- Setting goals and targets to continually improve our environmental performance

St Johns Shopping Centre is proud that it has:
- Installed of a 65m-long living green wall, the largest of its kind outside of London, containing 17 different plant species
- Absorbed two tonnes of pollution and created 750kg of oxygen through the same initiative
- Installed beehives on the rooftop of the centre, positively contributing to city centre biodiversity
- Reduced general waste by 66 tonnes, achieving a 10% annual reduction
- Recycled 35 tonnes of food waste per annum
- Installed eight electric vehicle charging points in the centre car park
- Replaced 90% of incandescent lighting for detection-controlled LED lighting, and switched to a green energy provider
- Reduced its electricity consumption by 29%, its gas consumption by 16% and its water usage by 11%
- Moved from a fixed waste collection schedule to an ad-hoc schedule, maximising its efficiency
