On the day…

On Friday 27th September, more than 30 employers participated in the event and over 1,000 job hunters attended throughout the duration of the day. Job Centre Plus were on-hand to assist attendees with CV’s and general employment advice, with support from Liverpool Adult Learning Service’s ‘Digibus’, which provides free information and employment skills services to job seekers.

For the second year running, the event has been one of the biggest employment fairs the city has seen in years and is a culmination of months of planning between St Johns Shopping Centre and Job Centre Plus.

Neil Ashcroft, St Johns Centre Manager said “With the backing of local businesses, we are delighted to come together as one and provide an opportunity for job seekers to meet employers and apply for positions in the run-up to Christmas.

The event has supported many job hunters, not only in terms of applications but for general employment advice. It has been great to see hundreds of job seekers in one place, with applications being made and positions being filled all day long.

We’re always looking for ways to support our local community and it is great to see the event delivering for so many.”

The event was also attended by Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool.
